Deep respect for our past – Unwavering commitment to our future

View of Noarlunga landscape

Noarlunga is more than just a new development. It represents an essential balance between honouring the land's history and the communities that have called it home – and building a sustainable future for many generations of South Australians to come.

Renewal SA, the Government agency entrusted with establishing the Noarlunga development, recognises that this land, a part of the City of Onkaparinga, is on the Traditional Lands of the Kaurna Miyurna people.

By working with Kaurna representatives on cultural heritage assessments and community engagement, the development acknowledges and respects the land’s deep history and the forebears who have cared for it for millenia.

This project honours the past by recognising the cultural significance of the area, ensuring its legacy is not forgotten but woven into the fabric of the new community by incorporating native plant species into the parks and reserves – and through the naming of streets in Kaurna language.

At the same time, this development is fundamentally about building a vibrant future. In developing over 600 new homes, the project aims to provide modern, sustainable, and affordable housing options that will enable new generations of South Australians to put down roots.

This balance between heritage and progress will allow Noarlunga to grow thoughtfully, and create a vibrant, inclusive community built on respect for its past and a clear vision for its future.
