The name ‘Noarlunga’ comes from the Kaurna word ‘Nurlongga’, describing the horseshoe bend in the nearby Onkaparinga River (Ngangkiparingka). Recognising the Noarlunga site’s layered history and profound cultural significance, Renewal SA engaged the State’s Cultural Heritage Advisor. This partnership has proved invaluable, ensuring the development respects its past while embracing its promising future.
